Taylor is an impact crater on the front of the moon , south of Delambre crater and west of Alfraganus . The irregularly shaped crater is heavily eroded. The interior is uneven and has a central mountain .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the British mathematician Brook Taylor .
