Taylor Decker (* 23. August 1993 in Vandalia , Ohio ) is an American Football poker players on the position of offensive tackles . He plays for the Detroit Lions in the National Football League (NFL).

Early years

Decker attended high school in his hometown, Vandalia, Ohio . He later attended Ohio State University . Here he played for the college football team, first only in the special teams , later as the right offensive tackle , then as the left offensive tackle.

NFL

Decker was selected 16th in the first round by the Detroit Lions in the 2016 NFL Draft . On May 6, 2016, he signed a four-year contract with the Lions. In his first season he became a regular player and played all 16 season games as a starter.

On June 6, 2017, Decker had to undergo surgery due to a shoulder injury and was due to be absent for an indefinite period and at least a large part of the 2017 season . He was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list.
