Taylor Rookery

The Taylor Rookery is a breeding colony of emperor penguins at the Mawson coast of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Lands . It is located on the eastern flank of the Taylor Glacier . It is the largest land-based colony of the emperor penguins and a specially protected area in Antarctica (ASPA # 101).
It is named after the naming of the neighboring glacier. Its namesake is the British geographer Thomas Griffith Taylor (1880-1963), participant in the Terra Nova expedition (1910-1913) of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott .
