Coordinates: 34 ° 50 ′ S , 138 ° 41 ′ E The City of Tea Tree Gully is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of South Australia . Tea Tree Gully belongs to the metropolis of Adelaide , the capital of South Australia. The area is 95 km² and has about 98,000 inhabitants (2016).
Tea Tree Gully is located in north Adelaide about 15 kilometers northeast of the city center. The area includes 28 neighborhoods: Banksia Park, Dernancourt, Fairview Park, Gilles Plains, Golden Grove, Gould Creek, Greenwith, Gulfview Heights, Highbury, Holden Hill, Hope Valley, Houghton, Modbury, Modbury Heights, Modbury North, One Tree Hill, Para Hills, Redwood Park, Ridgehaven, St Agnes, Salisbury Heights, Surrey Downs, Tea Tree Gully, Upper Hermitage, Valley View, Vista, Wynn Vale and Yatala Vale. The council is headquartered in Modbury, south of the LGA.

The Tea Tree Gully City Council has 13 members, twelve councilors are elected by the residents of the six wards (two each from Balmoral, Drumminor, Hillcott, Pedare, Steventon and Water Gully Ward). These six districts are determined independently of the districts. The council chairman and mayor (mayor) is also elected by all residents of the city.
