Team Thorengruppen SK is a Swedish sports club from the city of Umeå . The men's team plays in the Svenska Superligan , the highest Swedish division, while the women play in the second highest league, the Allsvenskan.

history

Foundation and steep rise

The club was founded in 2005 and is one of the younger clubs. Therefore he had to start in the lowest Swedish large field league. In the first season, the club reached fourth place. In the second season you could make clear the promotion with 18 wins from 20 games. In Division 3, the team has already reached the qualifying games for Division 2 as a newcomer. Thorengruppen won these qualifying games in extremes and was promoted to the third highest Swedish uni hockey league. In Division 2 you could not qualify for the promotion games with the new signing from IBK Dalen, Andreas Carlbom, only because of one point. In the 2009/10 season you could qualify for the promotion games, but lost Sandåkerns SK in both games. In 2010/11 the Umeå club won all games and only had to give up one point. TTG has thus qualified for the second highest Swedish league, Allsvenskan.

Success and failure

Allsvenskan

In the second highest Swedish league they reached second place, but were 12 points behind the leader IK Sirius IBK. In 2013/14, one season later, the men again achieved second place. In the promotion games to the Svenska Superligan they were only defeated in the third game to KAIS Mora IF . A season later, the club's men's division merged with Umeå City to tackle the SSL goal. However, the start of the season was not successful and the desired goal could not be achieved either.

In 2015/16 the men managed to land in the top four places. This also meant qualifying for the promotion games in the SSL. First TTG switched off Salem and then Wibax Piteå IBK.

Successes of the women's department

In the 2013/14 season, the women's team was promoted to Division 1. After only one season, they went back to Division 2. In 2015/16 the women managed to get promoted to the newly founded Allsvenskan.

After the 2017/18 season, the men were relegated from the Svenska Superligan to the Allsvenskan. The women finished the season in the Allsvenskan Norra in third place and barely missed the qualifying games for the Svenska Women's Superligan.

Stadion

The TTG teams play in the Umeå Energi Arena if possible. It has a capacity of 2600 seats.
