Teaterladan (German Theaterlagerhaus ), officially Hedemora Gamla Theater , is a theater in Hedemora , Dalarna County , Sweden. It is Sweden's oldest theater building of its kind and was built by a local wholesaler in the second half of the 1820s. Of the three floors, the lower two were originally used as a grain store and the top as a theater. The building is one of the three remaining warehouse theaters and was listed as a historical monument in 1964 . Other warehouse theaters are Gamla teatern in Vadstena and Gamla teatern in Eskilstuna . Hedemoras Theater is part of the European Route Historic Theaters .
Between 1829 and 1888 the theater was regularly used. The building was then used by the Salvation Army. From 1910 it was empty and fell into disrepair. On the occasion of the city's 500th anniversary, the theater was refurbished and re-inaugurated in 1946 by Crown Prince Gustav Adolf .
In the summer months, plays and concerts are held in the theater. The first floor and part of the ground floor are used to entertain theater guests today. On the ground floor there is also a small theater museum with a section on August Lindberg , an actor from Hedemora.
