The Technical University of Malaysia Malacca (UTeM) ( Malay Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka , English Technical University of Malaysia Malacca ) in Durian Tunggal a place near the city of Malacca , state of Malacca , is a state technical university in Malaysia . It was founded on December 1, 2000 as Kolej Universiti Teknikal Kebangsaan Malays and is now a university with around 12,000 students. The university's motto is Excellence Through Competency .
history
In 2000, the Kolej Universiti Teknikal Kebangsaan Malaysia (KUTKM) was established to offer technical courses. In 2007 the university was granted university status.
organization
The highest authority is the Board of Directors , which determines the fundamental direction of the university. The chancellor is an honorary position and is occupied by a well-known personality, while the full-time management of the university is headed by the vice-chancellor .
