Tegularia transrhenana

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tegularia transrhenana was a Roman brickworks operation ( tegularia ) of the Limes foreshore am Rhein on Germanic side bricks produced.

The operator was the Roman military . Its existence is proven by brick stamps. However, the site has not yet been localized archaeologically . Scientific studies of the clays used indicate that the Tegularia transrhenena was perhaps located in the Cologne or Neuss border foreland. The stamps themselves were found in several military camps as well as in Cologne.
