Teizo Ihmori (born August 24, 1851 in the province of Hizen , Japan ) was a Japanese designer of microbalances .

He received his doctorate in 1866 in Freiburg im Breisgau with the thesis Weight and the cause of the water skin in glass and other bodies . For this purpose, he and Emil Warburg had constructed a beam balance with a previously unknown accuracy. It was provided with a level reading and gave a reading of 30 graduation marks for 0.1 mg at a load of 0.6 g. If 50 graduation marks were not exceeded, the deflection and excess weight were proportional. With this he made studies on the adsorption of water on glass surfaces. However, the sensitivity was not sufficient to detect the water layer adsorbed on platinum.
