Tel-Aviv marathon
The Tel Aviv Marathon is an annual marathon in Israel . The organizers are the City of Tel Aviv and the Israel Athletics Federation.
The Tel Aviv Marathon is one of the largest sporting events in Israel and the largest marathon event in the country. In 2014 the field of participants consisted of around 40,000 runners.
history
The first Tel Aviv marathon took place in 1981 and was held annually until 1994. The event was revived in 2009 and has been held annually since then. In 2013 the run was canceled due to a heat wave . The route runs along the coast and the main streets of Tel Aviv. The start and finish is Charles Clore Park in the southwest of Tel Aviv.
