The Telegraph Road is a highway in the extreme Tropical North Queensland , Australia . It runs in a south-north direction and has a length of 304 km. It is the only road link to the tip of the Cape York Peninsula . It is unpaved along its entire length.

The Telegraph Road branches north of the Mungkan-Kandju National Park from the Peninsula Developmental Road (S81) to the north.

It runs through the middle of the Cape York Peninsula, about equidistant from its east and west coast. It follows the Jardine River National Park on its western border and ends in Cape York , the northernmost point of mainland Australia.

Many branch roads branch off from Telegraph Road to sheep breeding stations.
