Televisão Pública de Angola or TPA is the name for the Angolan state television.

prehistory

In 1962, the Rádio Club in Huambo began broadcasting the first television images, two years later in Benguela and then from 1970 in Luanda . In 1973 the Portuguese colonial government founded the Radiotelevisão Portuguesa de Angola (RPA) . After Angola's independence on November 11, 1975 and the departure of the Portuguese, the MPLA government nationalized the station and named it Televisão Popular de Angola . Due to government regulation No. 66/97, the canal was renamed in 1997 to its current name Televisão Pública de Angola (TPA) . TPA has been received in Luanda since 1970, in Benguela and Lobito from 1979 , in Huambo in 1981 and throughout the country from 1992. In 2000 there was TPA 2 as well as TPA 1 . TPA Internacional has been broadcast via satellite since 2003 and exclusively to Europe from 2008 and can currently be received via the cable network in Portugal .

Both programs, TPA 1 and TPA 2, broadcast a full program . The facility in the south of the city consists of administration, four TV studios and a restaurant. With the new TV center, TPA is able to realize the goal it has set itself, namely to produce films, novelas, dramas and documentaries on its own. The TV broadcaster Televisão Comercial de Angola, or TVC for short, is 100% owned by TPA . The channel was founded in 1994 with the aim of exclusively marketing minutes of advertising in TPA programs. Dias concerns general TV advertising, advertising time in telenovelas and business TV, sales of TV programs of the TPA, as well as commercialization in the publishing industry, books and magazines, video cassettes, floppy disks and sound carriers.
