Televisión Canaria is a public television broadcaster in the Canary Islands , one of the Autonomous Communities of Spain . The station is located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife , C / Bravo Murillo 5. The entire company Radio Televisión Canaria (RTVC) broadcasts the channels TV Canaria, TV Canaria 2 and TV Canaria net as well as the radio TV Canaria.

Information and entertainment programs as well as sports, music and documentaries are offered. The news programs Telenoticias 1 , Canarias Directo and the magazines Buenos Días Canarias and El Expreso de Mediodía should be mentioned in detail . There are also the documentary series Canal Canarias , Andar Canarias and La Destiladera . The folklore show La bodega de Julián and the talk show Nuestra gente provide entertainment .

history

The station was founded in 1984 after the Canary Islands became an autonomous region of Spain. On August 21, 1999 was first broadcast under the name Televisión Autonómica de Canarias (TVAC) . The name Televisión Canaria has been used since 2001. The broadcaster is run under the umbrella of the Federación de Organismos o Entidades de Radio y Televisión Autonómicos (FORTA) , the association of organizations or companies of autonomous radio and television .

In the Canaries, TV Canaria and TV Canaria 2 can be received via DVB-T . The Astra satellite broadcast the TV Canaria Sat program, but it was switched off on May 13, 2011. Since then, this program has been distributed worldwide as TV Canaria net over the Internet.
