Televisión Nacional Uruguay ( TNU ) is Uruguay's public television broadcaster.

The station broadcast its first programs on July 19, 1963 in frequency range 5 of the VHF as a television station for the Official Radio, Television and Show Service ( SODRE ). To ensure coverage of the entire country, the institute responsible for the station installed repeater antennas throughout Uruguay. TNU was the first licensed television broadcaster in Uruguay and received its broadcasting license in 1955. However, actual broadcasting operations were not started until February 28, 1963, experimentally and regularly on June 19 of the same year. Its first director was Justino Zavala Carvalho (son of Justino Zavala Muniz).

The director is Ernesto Kreimerman; he has been in office since January 2, 2018.
