history
The Tellermine 42 was introduced into the Wehrmacht at the end of 1942 as the successor to the Tellermine 35 . It was used until the end of World War II. The successor was the Tellermine 43, introduced in 1943 .
functionality
The mine, which was hidden or placed openly, triggered when the pressure plate on the lid was pressed. Additional draft fuses in the side and in the bottom of the mine as well as relief fuses were responsible for securing recovery. A pressure of 210 kilograms was necessary to trigger the mine.
