The pot mine was an anti-tank mine used by the Wehrmacht during World War II .
history
The pot mine was introduced into the Wehrmacht as an anti-tank mine in 1944 and was used until the end of World War II . It was completely metal-free because its housing was made of pressed material (wood flour / tar mixture) and it had a chemical igniter in a glass ampoule. It could not be located with metal detectors.
functionality
The mine, which was covered or placed openly, was triggered by pressing the pressure plate on the entire lid. A load of 150 kilograms was necessary to trigger the mine.
