history
The Rifle Mine 42 was introduced into the Wehrmacht as an anti-personnel mine in 1942 and was used until the end of the Second World War. Its case was made of plywood. Since there were still metal parts in the mine, it could be located using conventional methods.
functionality
The mine, which was placed in a concealed position, was released by pressing the pressure plate on the entire cover. A load of 2.75 to 5 kilograms was necessary to trigger the mine.
