Temmes is a place and a former municipality in the Finnish countryside of Northern Ostrobothnia . In 2001 Temmes was incorporated into Tyrnävä .

Temmes is located on the Temmesjoki River around eleven kilometers south of the main town of Tyrnävä. The main attraction of the place is the wooden church built in 1767 .

In addition to the main town of the same name, the Temmes community included the villages of Haapakylä, Haurukylä, Kärsämä and Ylipää. In 1766 it was detached from the Liminka parish as a chapel congregation, and in 1899 it became an independent congregation. The municipality of Temmes had an area of ​​116 square kilometers and last around 700 inhabitants. At the beginning of the year Temmes was largely incorporated into the municipality of Tyrnävä, while smaller exclaves of the municipality were incorporated into Liminka , Lumijoki and Rantsila .
