Carpe Diem Records
Carpe Diem Records is a German CD label for early music , improvised music , jazz and stylistic boundaries.
Carpe Diem Records was founded in 1995 by Thomas Görne (* 1963) and taken over in 2008 by sound engineers Jonas Niederstadt and Johannes Wallbrecher. The label pays special attention to the overall concepts in music and sound, to audiophile recording quality and the graphic design of the CDs. Carpe Diem wants to offer music in a “new, unheard and unusual context”. The stylistic focus of the recordings is on so-called early music , but there are also influences from new music and jazz, such as the projects of Michel Godard . In addition to recordings by renowned musicians, the label also publishes such young talents.
