The Temnyje Islands ( English ; Russian Острова Тёмные Ostrowa Tjomnyje , German 'Dark Islands' ) are an island group off the Knox coast of the East Antarctic Wilkesland . They are located in the area of the Bunger Oasis .
Scientists from a Soviet Antarctic expedition mapped and named it in 1956. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia translated this name into English.
