Temple of all religions

The Temple of All Religions ( Russian Храм всех религий ) is a complex of buildings in Staroye Arakchino, a microrajon in Kazan , the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan . The structure contains elements of religious architecture of several types, including an Orthodox church, a mosque and a synagogue .

The construction of the temple was started in 1992 by the local sculptor, painter, poet and faith healer Eldar Chanow and is currently still ongoing. The building serves as a cultural center as well as a residence for Chanow and his employees. Regarding the idea of such a building, the artist, who is himself a Muslim , said in an interview: “ I heard a voice that said to me, 'Eldar, you have to get up at six o'clock tomorrow morning, take a shovel and start working on it To lay the foundation stone for a temple of all religions'! "

Chanow wants to give the building a total of 16 domes or towers, as a symbol for 16 world religions . However, Chanow always emphasized that this should not be a religious temple, but a "temple of culture and truth"; religious ceremonies should not take place there.

On the morning of April 10, 2017, a fire broke out in the temple, in which the administrator of the temple also died.
