The Temple protestant (German: Evangelical Church) is a church building of the United Protestant Church of France in Sommières in the Gard department ( Occitania region ). The church was originally the Franciscan monastery church . The organ has been classified as a Monument historique since 1989 .

history

The current Evangelical Church was built in 1630 for the Franciscan order in Gothic form in Sommières, the building was later given a classicist facade. After the French Revolution, the Church was transferred to the Reformed in 1805 . In 1840 the choir organ was installed. In 2013, the founding synod of the United Protestant Church of France met here .
