Game description

The aim of the game is “Which snail wins the race?” ; The instructions explain that six snails have come together in a race to measure their strength and find out which of them is the fastest.

Six lacquered wooden snails , which are modeled on a snail with a snail shell, serve as the toy . They are each about 5.5 cm × 3.5 cm in size, and each has its own color (red, yellow, green, pink, blue, orange). You are moved across the playing field by rolling two colored dice . The game board is 24 cm × 48 cm in size and divided into six straight racetracks with nine fields each, including a correspondingly marked start and finish field for each lane. The start and finish fields are marked in the colors of the snails. The actual racing field is bordered by a meadow of flowers painted in a child-friendly manner , on which there are various somewhat humanized animals as spectators of the snail race.

At the beginning of the game, the six snails are placed on the starting fields of the matching color so that each has a racetrack in front of them. The players in turn roll both color dice and, depending on the colors displayed, the respective snails are moved forward one space. If both dice show the same color, the matching snail may be placed two spaces in front of it.

If a snail reaches the goal, it is the winner and the game is over.

In a second variant of the game , the game continues until all snails have crossed the red and white finish line of their racetracks. If both dice show the color of a snail that is already on target, the player may roll again. If only one cube shows this color, only the snail that is still in the race is preferred. In this rule of the game, the winners are the players of the first and last snail to reach the target field.
