Tempti-Huban-Inšušinak

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tempti-Huban-Inšušinak was an Elamite king who lived from about 664 to 653 BC. Ruled. He appears in Assyrian sources as Te-Umman. This equation is not undisputed.

After the defeat and death of the predecessor Urtak , Tempti-Huban-Inšušinak was put on the throne, possibly with Assyrian help. The Urtaks family fled to Mesopotamia . Tempti-Huban-Inšušinak was obviously not related to the predecessor's family. He describes himself as the son of Šilhak-Inšušinak II.

653 BC Tempti-Huban-Inšušinak attacked the Assyrians. There was a battle on the Ulai River, Tempti-Huban-Inšušinak was defeated and allegedly beheaded directly by Aššur-bani-apli .

Tempti-Huban-Inšušinak is also known from temple construction work in Susa .
