Ten'ō (era)

Ten'ō ( Japanese 天 応 ) is a Japanese era ( Nengō ) from January 781 to September 782 according to the Gregorian calendar . The previous era name is Hōki , the following era is called Enryaku . The era falls during the reign of the emperor ( Tennō ) Kōnin , not to be confused with the eponymous era designation Kōnin .

The first day of the Ten'ō era corresponds to January 30, 781, the last day was September 29, 782. The Ten'ō era lasted only two years or 608 days.
