Enryaku
Enryaku ( Japanese 延 暦 ) is a Japanese era ( Nengō ) from September 782 to June 806 according to the Gregorian calendar . The previous era name is Ten'ō , the following era is called Daidō . The era falls during the reign of Emperor ( Tennō ) Kammu . It is the last era of the Nara period and the beginning of the Heian period .
The first day of the Enryaku era corresponds to September 30, 782, the last day was June 7, 806. The Enryaku era lasted 25 years or 8,652 days.

- 782 Rebellion of Higamino Gawatsugu ( 承 和 の 変 , Higami no Gawatsugu no ran ), a great-grandson of Temmu Tennō
- 784 Transfer of the capital from Heijō-kyō to Nagaoka-kyō
- 785 Assassination of Fujiwara no Tanetsugu
- 788 establishing the world famous Buddhist temple Enryaku-ji through Saicho on Mount Hiei
- 794 Heian-kyō becomes the capital of the country
- 797 Completion of the Shoku Nihongi Chronicle
- 800–802 eruption of Mount Fuji
- 803 Castle Shiwa is in the province of Mutsu built
