Tensta is an underground station on the Stockholm Metro . It is located in the Tensta district of the same name . The station is served by the Blå linjen of the Stockholm metro system . It is one of the less frequented stations on the underground network. On a normal working day, 6,000 commuters get on here.
The station was put into operation on August 31, 1975 as the 86th station of the Tunnelbana, when the section of the Blå linjen between T-Centralen -Hjulsta was opened. The station was designed by the Swedish artist Helga Henschen . The platforms are about 20–22 meters below ground. The station is located between the Rinkeby and Hjulsta stations . It is about 12.5 km to Stockholm Central Station .
