Rinkeby is an underground station on the Stockholm Metro . It is located in the Rinkeby district of the same name . The station is served by the Blå linjen of the Stockholm metro system . It is one of the less frequented stations on the underground network. 7,000 commuters get on here on a normal working day.
The station went into operation on August 31, 1975 when the section of the Blå linjen between T-Centralen and Hjulsta was opened. On August 19, 1985 the section Västra skogen-Rinkeby was opened, which changed the routing of the lines. The station was previously accessed via the branch of the current line T11, after the opening of the new section, the new line T10 was introduced, which now runs via the station Västra Skogen to Hjulsta. The station has two platforms instead of one. The station is located between the Rissne and Tensta stations . It is about eleven kilometers to Stockholm Central Station .
