Carpet tile
Carpet tiles are floor coverings laid as carpeting .
Usually they have a size of 50 x 50 cm, but there are also tiles of 40 x 40 cm, 1 x 1 m and other dimensions. A distinction is made between loop, cord , velor and needle felt . Carpet tiles are usually laid loosely. This is made possible by the non-slip back coating. It consists traditionally either bitumen , rubber from natural latex . Back coatings made of polyester felt have proven their worth since the mid-1980s. The felt coating is durable, dimensionally stable, environmentally friendly in production and disposal and has high ergonomic and acoustic values.
properties
Compared to conventional carpeting as roll goods, carpet tiles have several advantages:
- Individual tiles can easily be replaced if they are dirty or damaged
- By using different colored tiles and laying patterns, there are individual design options
- Carpet tiles can be transported more easily
- Carpet tiles can be picked up again and laid again (for example when moving house)
- The goods can also be relocated by non-specialists
- Less waste
use
Carpet tiles are used privately and commercially (offices, exhibition stands , event tents).
New or already sorted out from the living or working area, carpet tiles are also used as versatile popular materials in the play area of schools and clubs. They are valued as attractive play items that not only offer sports lessons welcome didactic and methodological opportunities, but also have the advantages of being easily and cheaply accessible as residual items or rejects, requiring little space for storage, and being easy to transport and quick to use to be. Smooth at the bottom and fluffy at the top, the carpet tiles are particularly suitable for various kinds of movement games , such as sliding, jumping or throwing games. They are used for large-scale figure placement as well as for partner and group games with communication and cooperation tasks.
