Carpet rod
A carpet rod (also known as knocking rod ) is a metal, mostly gate- like tubular frame for hanging up and knocking out carpets . In the 20th century, carpet rods were mostly erected behind settlement and residential houses on the Bleiche with a width of approx. With a carpet beater that hung over the Teppichstange carpets were cleaned. By the carpet cleaning with vacuum cleaners carpet rods are out of fashion and are no longer built today. You can usually find them in older housing estates.
Sometimes there are swings for children on the carpet rails at the same time .
