Life

Ferrero began her stage career as a cafe singer at a young age and was soon known for her soulful performances. She soon became the leading actress in a number of operettas and plays in Italy in the 1920s; she also performed in Paris, where she was one of the first soubrettes to be surrounded by elegant men on her catwalk stage appearances. With her own ensemble - an operetta company from 1925; from 1929 a revue troupe with Nuto Navarrini - she appeared in numerous popular revue pieces, with future star comedians like Erminio Macario and Totò gaining their first experiences with her (1928 in “Madama Follia”). In 1926 she sang a great success of the time with Creola on record. There were only two film appearances; Bluette was able to extend its success into the 1930s. In 1939, shortly before her death, she married the long-time partner and actor Navarrini.

Her grave is on the Cimitero monumentale di Torino .
