Teresita von Freyberg

Teresita Reichsfreifrau von Freyberg-Eisenberg , b. Teresita Armas O'Shanahan Lanza , (born April 21, 1937 in Montevideo , † September 26, 2009 ) was a Uruguayan noblewoman and diocesan superior of the Maltese.

Life

After her marriage to Hans-Christoph von Freyberg, Teresita von Freyberg was mistress of Jetzendorf Castle (Upper Bavaria) from 1985 .

There she developed extensive social engagement. In 1994 she initiated the foundation of the Pfaffenhofen hospice association to care for the seriously ill and dying and took over its chairmanship. From 1997 on she was the hospice officer of the Malteser Hilfsdienst in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising . As a diocesan superior and member of the state and regional council of the Maltese, she took care of the training of nurses' helpers. At her instigation, an outpatient hospice and palliative counseling service was set up in Graefelfing in 1997 . In 2004, the Order of the Brothers of Mercy set up the Johannes Hospice in Munich , for which they had obtained a grant of around 750,000 euros. In 2006 she founded an outpatient children's and youth hospice service for Munich and the surrounding area.
