The Terfner tunnel is a 15,840 meter long railway tunnel of the New Lower Inn Valley Railway in Tyrol . The double-track tunnel is approved for speeds of up to 220 km / h and has a solid track along its entire length. It is made up from the 10,570 meter long tunnel Stans  - Terfens , the 1,330-meter-long gallery Terfens and the 3940-meter-long underground route Fritzens  - Baumkirchen . In its middle, at around km 50.2, the tunnel has been widened for subsequent construction of the Vomp overtaking station .
