The Terrace Lake ( English for terrace lake ) is one of the numerous frozen small freshwater lakes on the Antarctic Ross Island . The elongated lake is around one kilometer from Cape Barne removed in one of Barne Glacier formed moraine valley .
The discovery is awarded to participants of the Nimrod expedition (1907-1909) under the direction of the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton . The lake owes its name to its location.
