The Barne Glacier is a glacier on the Antarctic Ross Island . It lies on the western flank of the Mount Erebus volcano and flows into McMurdo Sound between Cape Barne and Cape Evans .
The glacier was discovered by participants in the Discovery Expedition (1901-1904) led by the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott . He was named by participants in the Nimrod Expedition (1907-1909) under Ernest Shackleton after Michael Barne (1877-1961), a participant in the Discovery Expedition.
