John Raymond Racener (born December 16, 1985 in Dunedin , Florida ) is a professional American poker player .

Personal

Racener has already been caught drinking and driving several times and arrested in 2009 for a fight. He lives in Tampa , Florida .

Poker career

Career

Racener got $ 50 from his mother at the age of 16 and made it $ 300,000 in online poker over two years. Until 2011 he played under the nicknames $ 30K ( PokerStars ) , POCKET FIVE ( Full Tilt Poker ) , MrMarchelle ( partypoker ) and 5JMONEY5 ( UltimateBet ) and won prize money of more than one million US dollars in online tournaments. Racener has also been taking part in renowned live tournaments since 2006 .

Racener took on his 21st birthday in a Circuit event of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Atlantic City in third place and won more than $ 100,000 in prize money. In late January 2007, he reached the final table at the World Poker Tour (WPT) main event in Atlantic City and finished eighth for around $ 165,000. In June 2007 Racener was successful for the first time in the main WSOP tournament series in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and finished in the money in two tournaments of the No Limit Hold'em variant . In mid-December 2007 Racener won the WSOP circuit in Atlantic City and received a prize of just under 400,000 US dollars. At the WSOP 2010 , Racener reached the final table in the main event with the fourth-largest chip stack , which was played in November 2010. There he ended up in second place behind Jonathan Duhamel and won prize money of more than 5.5 million US dollars. In December 2010, Racener sat at the final table of the WPT Main Event at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas and received around $ 230,000 for fourth place. At the 2011 WSOP he reached one final table each in the variants 8 Game and Seven Card Stud Hi / Lo . In the latter variant, Racener finished second behind George Danzer at an event held in June 2014 and received just under 220,000 US dollars. At the 2015 WSOP , he finished tenth in the most expensive event on the tournament schedule, the High Roller for One Drop with a buy-in of $ 111,111, for just under $ 400,000.
