Territorial Parish
A territorial parish or territorial parish , according to canon law in the Roman Catholic Church a specific area, pastoral care unit under the sovereignty of the priest .
Demarcation
This territorial pastor is responsible for all church affairs within the area. The term “ parish ” is commonly used , since most parishes are territorial parishes. But there are also pastors , military pastors , prison pastors , hospital chaplains, pastors for the traveling people and for showmen, spiritualists , regents and other curators who are only active in pastoral care for certain groups of people or only on a building (prison, school, university, hospital) are limited. The powers of the territorial parish are restricted by the competent bishop insofar as he appoints other priests to look after certain people or institutions. Even monasteries do not belong to the territorial parish if the monastery itself does not take care of the parish.
