Terry Devon

Teresa "Terry" Devon (* 19th May 1922 in London , † 5. April 2013 ibid) was a British jazz singer , also in the light music emerged.

Devon, who initially worked as a hairdresser in her father's salon, won a crooner competition on Radio Luxembourg as a teenager . Then she sang in Billy Thorburn's orchestra; In 1939 she made her first recordings for radio; They recorded their first records for Parlophone , first Any Old Hearts To Mend , then To Mother With Love and Wish Me Luck As You Wave Me Goodbye . From 1941 she was a member of Oscar Rabin's orchestra and in 1945 she was part of the keynotes that appeared every week on the BBC's comedy radio show Take It from Here . Then she sang with Geraldo and Tito Burns , where she developed her talent for scat singing . She has now made records such as Be Bop Spoken Here , and I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles for Decca Records . With the birth of her older daughter in 1953, she ended her singing career.
