Terry Flanagan (* 11. June 1989 in Manchester , Lancashire , United Kingdom ) is a British professional boxer and current unbeaten world champion WBO in the lightweight .

Boxing career

On January 24th in 2009 Flanagan made his debut with the professionals against his compatriot Danny McDermid successfully with a unanimous victory over six rounds. In May 2012, he won the British title in the super featherweight division , defended him in September of that year and suggested, among other things Gary Sykey (record 20-2) on points.

In 2014 he was able to win the British championship again, this time in the lightweight . In the following year he won the European title of the WBO with a disqualification victory over the Irish Stephen Ormond (record 17-1) and the world title with a T-.K.-o victory against the American Jose Zepeda (record 23-0) the lightweight WBO.

In 2015 and 2016 he successfully defended the title against Diego Magdaleno (28-1), Derry Mathews (38-9), Mzonke Fana (38-9) and Orlando Cruz (25-4).
