The Tertene (loosely translated tarts ) comprise several small Nunatakker in East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . They are located on the western flank of the Kreitzerisen glacier near the western end of Girges Sør Rondane .
Norwegian cartographers, who gave the Nunatakkern a descriptive name based on their shape and arrangement, mapped them in 1957 using aerial photographs taken during the US Operation Highjump (1946–1947).
