Teruo Hayashi ( Japanese 林 輝男 , Hayashi Teruo ; * October 1924 in Nara ; † September 24, 2004 in Osaka ) was a Japanese karate master (10th Dan ), style founder of Japan-Karate-Do-Hayashi-Ha-Shitoryu -Kai and Kenshinryu-Kai-Okinawa-Kobudo .

biography

Teruo Hayashi was one of the greatest and most famous masters of modern karate. He was the holder of the 10th Dan and founder of the styles of Japan Karate-Do-Hayashi-Ha-Shitoryu-Kai and Kenshin-Ryu-Kai-Okinawa-Kobudo. Teruo Hayashi trained among other famous karate grandmasters such as Kosei Kuniba , Seko Higa and Choshin Nagamine as well as the Kobudo grandmasters Hohan Soken , Shiken Taira and Nakaima Kenko . In the 1940s he trained the Mobotu-Ha-Shitoryu-Seishin-Kai. Teruo Hayashi learned karate and Kobudo and many other traditional styles from China , Okinawa and Japan .

He was chairman of the WUKO ( World Union of Karate Do Organizations ) referee committee for over ten years .

Hayashi was the president and founder of Kenshin-Ryu-Kai-Okinawa-Kobudo and Japan-Karate-Do-Hayashi-Ha-Shitoryu , honorary president of the referee council of WUKO, director of FAJKO , one of the chief judges of FAJKO and president of the directive Committee for the further development of the Karate Association in Osaka . Its international representative is Seinosuke Mitsuya .
