The Lega Nazionale Dilettanti (National Amateur League) manages the amateur leagues in Italy. It was founded in 1959 and administers a large number of leagues: a national league, the Interregional Committee, which is the Serie D championship, nineteen regional leagues called Regional Committees, the women's and futsal leagues.

Series D

Serie D is the fourth highest football league in Italy and the highest amateur league. It was founded in 1948.

Eccellenza

The Eccellenza is called Oberliga in South Tyrol and was founded in 1991. It is the sixth highest football league in Italy.

Promozione

The Promozione is called the Landesliga in South Tyrol and is the seventh highest football league in Italy. It was founded in 1912.

The Seconda Categoria is the eighth highest league in Italy. Only amateur clubs are in this league.

Terza Categoria

The Terza Categoria is the 9th and lowest amateur football league in Italy . Every single winner of the Terza Categoria fights against the relegated person of the Seconda Categoria . In contrast to all other leagues in Italy, there is no relegation in the Terza Categoria.

Only provincial and amateur clubs play in this league. A special feature of this league is that the trainer does not need a license as a trainer.

In theory, this is the last league in Italy in which a club could move up to Serie A and also become champions.
