Tetrad

Tetrad was a British rock band from the south of England Bournemouth , County of Dorset , which was founded in 1968 and from the Palmer-James Band emerged.

The guitarist and singer Richard Palmer-James , the bassist and singer John Wetton and the organ player JW "Hutch" Hutcheson decided after disagreements in the Palmer-James group to form a more professional band and brought drummer Bob Jenkins on board. They only played cover versions of bands that were popular at the time such as Cream , Family or the Zombies . A prelude in October 1968 with the Decca record company was unsuccessful.

A one-time performance as the backing band of the legendary Afro-American R&B singer Clyde McPhatter ended in a fiasco, as McPhatter did not stick to the selected songs and then left the stage early. In 1969 you got tired of the band name and changed it to Ginger Man . The last concert took place on July 5, 1969 in Salisbury .

Richard Palmer-James became a founding member of Supertramp under the name Richard Palmer , later a copywriter for King Crimson . Today he mainly makes a living as a copywriter for various pop and rock groups. John Wetton became one of the most famous singers and bassists of progressive rock and played in the bands Mogul Thrash , Family, King Crimson, Roxy Music , Uriah Heep , UK and Asia and then mostly pursued a solo career.

Jux-Reunion "Jack-Knife"

In February 1978 there was a sort of reunion of the band in Munich in Musicland Studios in only 10 days juxhalber album I Wish You Would under the band name Jack Knife recorded. Wetton, Palmer-James and Hutcheson were supported by the German drummer Curt Cress . John Wetton had good contacts with the record company EG Records , which brought the album onto the market. Some pieces that were previously played by Tetrad and a few new songs of their own were recorded. John Wetton returned to England after the recordings with his band UK to go on tour with them.
