The Teufels Bächlein , also called Teufelsbächlein, is a tributary of the Zottelbach . This is a tributary of the Saale .

Name meaning

The name is derived from the Old High German tiufal or the Middle High German tiuvel or tievel - which means devil. Why this part of the landscape was animated by the devil in popular belief is unknown.
