Textile pretreatment

In textile technology and finishing, pretreatment is the preparation of textiles for the next process steps ( dyeing , textile printing , finishing ).

The textile pretreatment comprises the following areas:

• Rough cleaning (tapping, brushing, vacuuming and sanding)
• Pre-finishing ( singeing , scissors )
• Desizing
• Beuchen (alkaline decoction) / enzymatic cleaning (textile industry)
• Acid pretreatment
• bleaching
• Mercerization / causticizing / alkalizing
• Treatment with liquid ammonia
• Treatment with optical brighteners
• Thermosetting of synthetic fibers
