Thümmlers Erzgebirge books
Thümmlers Erzgebirgs-Bücher was a book series from H. Thümmlers Verlag in Chemnitz . Initially, a few volumes appeared in loose succession and without a consecutive number before the First World War. After the end of the war, the individual volumes published were numbered consecutively. The series was discontinued towards the end of the 1920s.
Thümmler's Erzgebirgs-Bücher were mainly devoted to the publication of Erzgebirge dialect literature and hiking and travel descriptions. Each volume was published in the same format with a hard cardboard cover with the book title and a drawing on it. Well-known dialect poets from the Ore Mountains such as Max Wenzel and Hans Siegert were among the employees in this series . The notebooks were illustrated with drawings by painters such as Gustav Zindel and Erich Neubert.
