ESADE (or Escuela Superior de Administración y Dirección de Empresas ) is a Spanish university founded in 1958 and based in Barcelona . With the ESADE Business School, the ESADE Executive Language Center and the ESADE Law School, the university has a total of three faculties and forms part of the Ramon Llull University . ESADE has campuses in Barcelona Pedralbes, Barcelona Sant Cugat, Madrid, and Buenos Aires. ESADE has exchange and cooperation agreements with around 100 universities worldwide, including the Wharton School , UC Berkeley , Emory University , Georgetown University and Northwestern Kellogg .

history

The "ESADE" project was conceived in the spring of 1954 by a group of Spanish entrepreneurs and professionals who later founded the university. ESADE signed an agreement with the Jesuits in October 1958 and began offering its first academic programs in a small building in Sant Gervasi, a district of Barcelona .

1960, two years after it was founded, the first executive education programs were introduced. In 1964, ESADE's MBA program was launched. A year later, in 1965, ESADE's Barcelona Campus (Pedralbes) and the Executive Language Center opened. In 1993 the ESADE Law School was inaugurated. In 2001 the ESADE campus in Madrid opened , and two years later that of the campus in Buenos Aires . Both are primarily used for executive education. In 2009 ESADE inaugurated a new campus in Barcelona Sant Cugat and the ESADE Creapolis. ESADE Creapolis, located on the new campus in Barcelona Sant Cugat, is a start-up center based on the principle of open innovation .

Today, ESADE's campuses cover an area of ​​30,000 square meters if you include the premises in Madrid and Barcelona.

Rankings

In addition to MSc programs in Management (Master in Management) and MBAs , ESADE Business School also offers Customized Executive Education, EMBAs and Bachelor programs ( BBA ).

The MSc Finance was listed at number 2 worldwide by the Financial Times in 2014 , and the MSc Management at number 9 worldwide.

The Economist magazine lists the ESADE MBA 2011 at number 17 worldwide and the Financial Times at number 21 worldwide. Business Week magazine currently ranks the ESADE MBA at number 4 of all MBA programs outside the USA.

ESADE's Customized Executive Education Programs rank fourth in the 2013 Financial Times global ranking .

ESADE was awarded 5th place in the FT - 2012 ranking of the best European business schools.

CEMS program

ESADE Business School is also part of the prestigious CEMS program. With more than 30 partner business schools on 4 different continents, ESADE Business School has an international network that benefits students. The CEMS program can either be done after one of the MSc offered by ESADE, or you are on an exchange semester at ESADE and your home business school is one of the partner schools.

Admission

The admission criteria for the MSc (Master of Science) and MBAs programs are essentially identical, with MBAs, unlike MScs, requiring several years of professional experience. They include:

In 2011, a total of 224 students were admitted to the Master in Management, which are divided between the 4 programs. 42 nationalities were represented among the students. The 2012 MBA graduation class comprised 180 students from 45 nations.

Alumni

ESADE's alumni network comprises more than 48,000 alumni of 105 nationalities who live in 115 countries. The goals of the official ESADE alumni association include: a. supporting the professional development of its members and strengthening cooperation between them. The ESADE Alumni Association is self-governing and comprises 33 international and 20 industry-specific clubs. Each club is organized by a board of directors consisting of ESADE alumni from the respective country or industry.
