Thabang Lebese (born August 24, 1973 in Soweto , † February 22, 2012 in Johannesburg ) was a South African football player .

Lebese, who came to the Kaizer Chiefs via the Orlando Wanderers and the Orlando Hotspurs , joined the professional squad there in 1993. On January 25, 1998, he played a game for the South African national soccer team as part of the COSAFA Cup against Namibia , which however was lost 3-2. After more than 200 games for the Chiefs, he moved to Ria Stars in Pietersburg in 2000 . There he was able to score eight goals in 28 games within one season before moving to the Orlando Pirates . He only stayed there for one season and then moved to the Silver Stars , where he was only on the field for a total of eight games. After another goalless season with the Moroka Swallows , Black Leopards and Dynamos FC , he ended his active career.

After his active career, Lebese was mainly active in youth development. He died unexpectedly on February 22, 2012 at the age of 38.
