Thaicom 6 is a Thai Satellite the Thaicom Plc., A subsidiary of INTOUCH Plc. based in Thailand . The total cost of the television satellite is $ 160 million. The launch took place on January 6, 2014 at 10:06 p.m. ( UTC ) from launch site 40 of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station . The satellite was then positioned next to Thaicom 5 at 78.5 ° East, replacing the Thaicom 2 satellite, which was switched off in 2010 .
