Thangpoche monastery

Thangpoche Monastery (Tib. ཐང་ པོ་ ཆེ; Wylie thang po che ) or Solnak Thangpoche was formerly a monastery of the Kadam School, the first Sarma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism . It was founded in 1017 by drumer Tshälthrim Chungne , a student of Lume Tshälthrim Sherab . It is located in Qonggyai County (Chongyye) of Shannan County (Lhokha) in the south of the Tibet Autonomous Region in the People's Republic of China . Lume died on the way to this monastery. It later became a Gelugpa monastery .
